Bernie: Too socialist, even though he’s worth $50 million
Buttigieg: Too insufferably perfect, knows all the answers to the test and raises his hand in class too much.
Biden: Too Burisma.
Warren and Klobuchar: Too female.

If I were the Dems, I’d be inclined to scrap the entire field and hire some smart people (and us) to think tank an electable candidate: Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Tom Hanks, Dolly Parton or yes, Michelle Obama, George Clooney (with running mate Danny Devito… or Julia Roberts). I’m not even kidding.
Sure, if you’re a responsible, Constitution-defending American, your entire ethos this year should be that of a Michigan fan: “Go Blue!” But that doesn’t mean the Dems should make it so difficult to find one charismatic, likable challenger to the incumbent.
I’d already started souring on Bloomberg before last night’s immolation & now, well, I don’t know WHO to freakin vote for in the Primary! I do NOT like Sanders & believe if he gets the nomination, this country will END as a democratic republic because that corrupt piece of shit SOCIOPATH currently occupying the WH will instruct his flying monkeys to “FLY, FLY” & knock all the stuffing out of him. When they are done with him, not only will his “one arm be over there & one leg under there” but the American people will be force-fed lies 24/7 that he is not a ‘left-leaning Democrat” but a “Communist” secretly born in the old Soviet Union & sent here to “destroy America” 60 years later.
I’d vote for Warren but I HATE some of her tax ideas (Bloomberg has many of the same!) & the ridiculous wiping of all student loans. Plus, the one thing this country has more of than racists are folks (mostly men but some women too) who HATE women in power & would never vote for a female President. So, I worry she’d get crushed too.
Somehow Biden has to get past the Trumpian FALSEHOODS about him & his son & resurrect his campaign. That the GOP Nazi ‘Trumped-up” BULLSHIT about Biden & his son (already SHOWN to be a pack of lies) has done this damage to what had been the leading candidate makes me positively seething, even if I’m not Biden’s biggest fan.
IF someone could convince Clooney to run/to save the country, he’d win in a landslide.
On a different topic – you’re writing for SI again?! 🙂 I may HATE the current owner & that the mag only comes once a month now (sniff, sniff, bawlllll!), but I have read several things the past few months that I’ve liked very much – including a piece I just read last night about Michaela Shiffrin & her dad. So, I’m happy for you & happy for me, as a SI subscriber & occasional website reader.
